Business email and domains in Costa Rica

Email is the nervous system of a company and almost nobody treats it that way. You find out it was broken the day a quote never arrived, or the day the domain expired on a Sunday.

Domain administration

We register, renew and administer our clients’ domains. That includes the boring part, which is exactly what nobody does until it hurts:

• Expiry tracking, with renewal before the date rather than the day after.
• DNS record administration, with every change documented.
• Transfers between registrars when consolidating makes sense.
• Transfer lock and contact data protection.

The three email platforms, and when each one fits

• Professional Business Email, by Liquid Web and Rackspace. Solid mailboxes at a good price per seat, for teams that need reliable email and little else. It is the most direct option when a full office suite is not required.
• Google Workspace. When the team already lives in Gmail, Drive and Meet, and wants everything connected.
• Microsoft 365. When the company works in Outlook, Excel and Teams, or when there are compliance and device management requirements.

The recommendation comes out of the diagnosis, not out of the commission. If what the company already has works, we say so.

Deliverability, in business language

Whether your email lands in the inbox or in the junk folder depends on three technical records almost nobody checks. Here is what they are:

• SPF. The list of who is allowed to send email on behalf of your domain. Without it, anyone can pretend to be you.
• DKIM. A signature that travels with each message and proves it really came from your company and was not altered on the way.
• DMARC. The instruction telling the receiving server what to do when a message fails the two checks above, and sending you a report of what is happening.

We configure them, verify them and review them whenever something changes. It is one of the cheapest things to fix and one of the most expensive to ignore.

Mailbox migration

Changing email platform is frightening for good reason: if it goes wrong, the company loses its communication. We migrate with the full history, with accounts tested before the DNS change, and with support on the day of the transition, so nobody discovers the problem alone in front of their computer.
